About Me

Ever since I can remember, I've wanted to grow up to be a vampiress. And the fact that I read vampire novels by the fistful doesn't help the matter. My favorite is The Horrifying Tale of Mrs. Trollope by Martin Dubow. Every night I dream of waking up as Mrs. Trollope. And this morning, I actually think I did. Bare your lovely throat for me, my pet, so that I may partake of that red and viscous Miracle Mineral which flows so liberally throughout your veins.

3scrappers showcases the wonderful art work of Eleanor Barker.

Eleanor has been in New Zealand for 6 years and is originally from the UK. She has had 3 solo art shows under her maiden name Eleanor Bird.

Her abstract landscape art shows pattern and the changes of light and emotion in nature. Here's what she has to say about her influences: I have been heavily influenced by the painter and stained glass artist Marc Chagall. His use of strong vibrant colour to describe themes of love and fantasy ring true in my own work. I love living in the bush out west. Since moving to Huia my pallette has drifted towards blues and greens. I feel surrounded by atmospheric light and shadow. I love encasing the colour in black lines to both define the image and bring a strong sense of movement. My faith is very important to me. It grounds me and enables me to see the beauty all around me. I always feel love and a sense of oneness with nature.
